Who we are

Keepsweep ("the app," "we," "us") is a photo-cleaning app for iPhone that helps you review your camera roll and free up storage. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information.

Your photos stay on your device

To let you review and clean your library, Keepsweep asks for permission to access your Photos. It uses this access only to show your photos inside the app and to remove the ones you choose to delete.

Your photos, videos, and their metadata are read and processed only on your iPhone. They are never transmitted to our servers, uploaded to the cloud, or sent to any third party. We have no servers that receive your photo content, and we could not see your photos even if we wanted to.

When you cut a photo, Keepsweep asks iOS to delete it. iOS always shows you its own confirmation first, and deleted items go to your "Recently Deleted" album for 30 days, exactly as with Apple's Photos app. You stay in control the entire time.

Information we do not collect

• We do not require an account, email address, or sign-in.
• We do not collect or send anywhere your photos, their thumbnails, their file names, your albums, or the locations your photos were taken.
• We do not ask for permission to track you, do not use Apple's advertising identifier, and do not follow you across other companies' apps or websites.
• We do not show ads inside Keepsweep or sell or rent your personal information.

How the app is used

We keep track of how people move through Keepsweep, so we can see which features are worth building on, compare two versions of a screen to find the clearer one, and tell which ads actually bring people to the app.

What we record is the shape of a visit, not its contents: that a cleanup session finished, that the subscription screen appeared, how many photos were kept or deleted, how much space was freed, and whether a purchase went through. Alongside it we note your app and iOS version, your device's language and region, which ad you arrived from, and a random identifier created when you installed the app. That identifier is not your name, your email, or your Apple Account. As with any app that talks to a server, our analytics provider also sees the IP address your device connects from, which it uses to work out your rough country; we do not use it for anything else and we do not store it against you.

We share this with three companies, each of which handles one job for us and may only use the data to do it: Singular tells us which ads worked, PostHog tells us how the app is used, and RevenueCat manages subscriptions. We do not sell this information, and we do not use it to follow you around other companies' apps or websites. Keepsweep never asks for permission to track you and never touches the advertising identifier Apple uses for that purpose. Their policies: Singular, PostHog, RevenueCat.

Recordings of the app's own screens

Some problems only show themselves when you watch someone hit them — a button that ignores a tap, a step with no way forward. So Keepsweep records how its own screens were used: which screens appeared, and where on them you tapped.

Your photos and your text are not in these recordings. Before a recording leaves your iPhone, every image and every piece of text on the screen is painted over. What we receive is a layout: boxes where your photos were, boxes where the words were, and the places you touched. Your photos, and the screen that shows a photo's file name, date, or location, are covered by this too. We never receive the uncovered version, because it is never sent.

Recordings are tied to the same random installation identifier as everything above, and are deleted automatically after 30 days.

Purchases and subscriptions

Keepsweep offers an optional paid upgrade ("Keepsweep Pro"). Purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. Apple processes your payment; we never see your credit-card number or billing details. Apple's handling of your information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

To keep your subscription working across your devices, Keepsweep uses RevenueCat. It receives the receipt Apple issues for your purchase, whether your subscription is currently active, the same random installation identifier used elsewhere, and a few notes about which ad you came from and how far you got in the app. We use this to unlock the features you paid for and to understand how well subscriptions are doing. When the app crashes

If Keepsweep crashes, it sends us a report through PostHog describing where in our code it failed, labeled with the same random installation identifier as everything else. These reports are about our software, not about you: they contain no photos and no information from your library. Separately, if your device is set to share diagnostics with developers, Apple may also send us anonymized crash reports; you can turn that off in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

Seeing or deleting your data

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about your installation, ask us to delete it, or object to our using it, by emailing [email protected]. One honest caveat: because none of it is tied to your name or email, we often cannot tell which records are yours from an email alone, and we may have to ask you for details that help us find them — or tell you that we cannot. Deleting the app and reinstalling it also creates a new identifier, which cuts the old records loose from you entirely. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

Children

Keepsweep is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email [email protected] and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and post the new version here. If a change materially affects how we handle your information, we will say so in the app or in the release notes rather than relying on you to notice. Continuing to use Keepsweep after a change means you accept the updated policy.
